What this service does

Official national portal for farmers to purchase non-preventable natural risk crop insurance at highly subsidized premiums (1.5% - 2% for food/oilseeds, 5% for commercial/horticultural) and submit post-harvest localized crop loss claims directly.

Who can use it / Eligibility

All Indian farmers including sharecroppers and tenant farmers growing notified crops in notified areas are eligible.

How it works (Step-by-Step)

    Visit the official PMFBY farmer portal at pmfby.gov.in.

    Click on 'Farmer Corner' and select 'Apply for Crop Insurance by Yourself' or login using Aadhaar / Mobile OTP.

    Select State, Season (Kharif / Rabi), Year, Scheme, and Land / District details.
  4. 4
    Enter survey number, crop type, sown acreage, and link your Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
  5. 5
    Upload land record documents and sowing certificate, pay the nominal subsidized farmer premium online, and download your insurance policy receipt with unique application ID.
Offline Application Process

Farmers can also apply through nearest Common Service Centres (CSC), designated commercial banks, or district Agriculture Department offices.
