What this service does
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) provides online Aadhaar services. Citizens can download digital e-Aadhaar, update residential addresses online, verify Aadhaar numbers, check bank seeding status, order durable PVC cards, and securely lock/unlock biometrics.
Who can use it / Eligibility
Any resident of India who possesses a 12-digit Aadhaar number or a 28-digit Enrolment ID (EID). Online address updates require an active mobile number linked to Aadhaar for OTP verification.

- 1For Online Address Update: Valid Proof of Address (POA) document (e.g., Electricity bill within 3 months, Bank Passbook, Passport, Ration Card, Registered Rent Agreement).
- 2For Demographic Updates at Aadhaar Centre: Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Date of Birth (DOB).
- 3For Mandatory Biometric Update (Ages 5 & 15): Birth Certificate and Parent/Guardian Aadhaar (no fee charged).
How it works (Step-by-Step)
- 1Visit the official UIDAI myAadhaar portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
- 2Click 'Login' and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and captcha, then submit the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
- 3Select 'Address Update' > 'Update Address Online'.
- 4Enter your updated residential address exactly as shown in your supporting document.
- 5Upload a clear scan of the valid Proof of Address document (PDF/JPEG/PNG up to 2MB).
- 6Pay the ₹50 statutory fee via UPI, NetBanking, or Debit/Credit card.
- 7Save the Service Request Number (SRN) on the acknowledgement receipt to track status.
For mobile number linking, biometric changes, or new enrolment, book an appointment at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and visit your nearest authorized Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Post Office with original documents.
